Frustrated Paperback Writer

Who knew the road to self publishing success was such a tortuous one.

“Err … Pretty much everybody!”

So … a not-so-unexpected apology to the fans out there impatiently waiting for the paperback release. I found myself caught in the clutches of ‘A Forever Edit’ – novice authors beware – and then I slammed up against the frustration of KDP paperback pricing.

“What fans?”

So … a more unexpected apology for the pricing of the paperback. It is far more expensive than I wanted, and there doesn’t seem to be anything I can do to influence it. This time I am completely at the mercy of the KDP pricing algorithms. Another learning curve that feels like the VelociCoaster at Universal, Orlando. If you’ve been, you’ll know what I mean.

It’s either write shorter books or try to find a way to economise on the paperback costs, both of which will have to wait until book two.

I am now aiming for Halloween. Seems a fitting date for the paperback release.
