Songs of a Lost World by the Cure. How good is this album?

I sit listening on repeat, trying to write the second (hopefully good) draft of book two, and all I can think is, Lauren would have loved this album. Maybe she was right. Robert Smith has lived the life she’s living. The title even echoes her playlist, Songs for the Last Days. And while the sentiment differs, Lauren is no stranger to loss, and she has certainly faced something wicked from out the cruel treacherous night. If you haven’t listened to this masterpiece, I won’t trivialise any further the depth of feeling in the lyrics. They are an inspiration for both Lauren, and this aging writer who also fears the dying of the light. The music is a gothic prayer to regret, obsession, and love. And, the album dresses in a fitting matt black and stares stone cold back.
