… the Best Part …

A Northern Street in a Northern Town

… of my life.

You better not be late to this party, Lauren and Jake are depending on you.

The second of ten great albums or E.P.s I discovered this year and Lauren would have loved. They are in no particular order in case you were wondering.

‘Everybody Needs a Hero,’ twists and turns, goes places ‘A Woman on the Internet’ threatened to venture. There is a courageous vulnerability at the heart of this record, and the title track seems to sum up the whole. Co-written by Lauren Aquilina, I remember seeing Lauren in the Ruby Lounge, back in the days when that scruffy scarlet venue still opened its doors to the night. I look forward to catching Orla in Manchester at the Albert Hall next year, beneath the technicolour of the stained glass.

Well worth a listen.
